To find out more about RPG, I conducted a quantitative survey with gamers to gather their opinion on this popular game genre.

Highlight from the research:

When asked about why they like gaming,

84% chose the option 'Escape' and indicated that they 'love being someone new in a different world, being part of a fascinating story'

68% chose the option 'Social: I always game with my friends, it's my way to socialise'

When asked about why they like RPG,

76% expressed their love for the stories and

64% indicated that they 'love solving problems and progressing in a story'

Some responses to the question ‘why do you like RPG?’ that are not from the given options:

1. ‘Graphics + Gameplay + Combat (Especially story development)’

2. ‘I love the stories the most, but the reason why I like RPG better than novel games is because it gives me more direct opportunities to “live” in the world.’
