(Spoiler Alert) Full Story behind the Antagonist

Taronyx, an ex-calvary and also an alchemist, used to be a soldier from Naroford (the place where the players start their journey) and fought in the Central War (a war that the fantasy world participated against the invaders who time-travelled from the future). However, they lost the battle in Naroford. Taronyx and his 4 comrades are therefore abandoned. They suffered in the extreme weather and died from the cold. His comrades' souls scatters in the wind almost immediately, but Taronyx, being born in the famous town of alchemy, Naroford, was able to control his soul using the talisman from his mother -- an 'Energy Stone'.

Taronyx stayed at the battleground and watched the invaders devastated his hometown. He resents the intruders, resents the war, and resents the commander who refused to send support. He's lost hope in the world that turned back on him and wanted a revenge.

He walked to the commander's office and easily killed him using his sabre, because he's an invisible soul now. He then tarted his journey to collect pieces of his comrades souls, hoping to bring them back to life and start his big plan.

After months of walking alone, he settled in a cave near the world's largest exhibition centre, the Gem Palace. He'd walk around the exhibitions and listen to gossips, 'collecting' materials for his alchemist experiments. Quickly after a year, he was able to control the visibility of his soul and started to work on his big plan.

The war was still going on and clearly the invaders are on the winning side. Using the energy stone technology he learned from Naroford, he spent years creating monster illusions and placed these stones near the battlefield, which quickly drove away the invaders.

But that's just the start. More 'monsters' are stationed around this world to exploit fear among the peasants, forcing extreme weathers and chaos, just like the war that killed him.

His search for shattered souls were tough but he was able to collect the souls in 10 years, thanks to his knowledge in alchemy. He keeps the souls in different diamond jars and let the energy stones guard them. The monster illusions will attack whenever there are strangers near the collected souls.

Finally after more than 30 years, Taronyx has developed the formula to combine the soul pieces of his comrades. All he needs is the special Crystal Orb from the Far East, which will be exhibited in the Gem Palace very soon.
